As part of the New Playwrights Programme 2019 the Lyric will be hosting a number of public workshops and masterclasses led by key writers and directors, to help aspiring new playwrights to develop their skills.

Erica Murray will discuss the play, her journey as a writer and her process.
Erica is originally from County Limerick, Ireland. She holds an MFA in Playwriting from the Lir Academy, Trinity College Dublin. She was a member of the Soho Young Writer’s Group and the New Playwright’s Programme at The Lyric Theatre, Belfast where she developed All Mod Cons
. This year she is one of the recipients of the Channel Four Playwright’s Bursary Scheme Award supported by The Peggy Ramsay Foundation. Her first play The Cat’s Mother
was long-listed for the Verity Bargate Award, it premiered in 2018 and toured to Underbelly at the Edinburgh Fringe and the Dublin Fringe Festival where it won the Fishamble Award for Best New Writing.
