• Catalyst Dance Festival: Raw Materials

    Produced by Dance Resource Base
    Curated by Eileen McClory

    Sun 22 Mar

In light of the escalating situation with the coronavirus/ COVID-19 pandemic, all scheduled performances of Catalyst Dance Festival have been cancelled. We will be issuing refunds to all bookers.

In order to manage these communications we ask that you do not get in touch with the Box Office until 48 hours prior to the date and time of the performance you were coming to see.

This will greatly help our team in talking to every customer and making sure every request is processed.

This free event is a sharing of raw materials that have been selected from emerging dance artists who are working on a new piece in order to apply for scratch works in the future. These pieces are works in progress. While tickets are free, booking is essential.

Catalyst is a much-needed platform to showcase the high-quality and exciting work produced by Individual Dance Artists who have received support from the Arts Council Northern Ireland through their Support the Individual Artist Programme: including the Artist Career Enhancement Scheme, General Award and Major Individual Award.

Dance Resource Base alongside Catalyst curator Eileen McClory has designed this one-day event that will provide the essential opportunity for choreographers to showcase their work in a professional capacity.  These new dance works have been created to inspire creativity amongst Northern Ireland and further afield

Other performances include Gary Rowntree’s Togetherness, Ayesha Mailey’s See Me Disappear and Eileen McClory’s CUCK.

To conclude the day there will be an On The Floor discussion concerning how a dance artist makes a work and what It takes to make it a success.

Without Catalyst, it is difficult to see how our local dance makers and performers can develop and exhibit their own voice and create works of excellence in the future to be appreciated and valued by its much loved audiences.
