A Welcome to the NT Connections festival 2021 from Clint Dyer, Deputy Artistic Director at the National Theatre

Each year the National Theatre commissions ten new plays for young people to perform, bringing together some of the UK’s most exciting writers with the theatre-makers of tomorrow.

As a partner theatre we welcome youth theatre companies from all across the North and South of Ireland. Connections is always one of the highlights of our calendar as the theatre is jam packed with young actors, musicians, writers and technicians taking part in workshops, technical rehearsals and performances.

This year we are doing things a little differently and presenting a fully digital Connections festival. We are proud to be presenting youth theatre talent from Northern Ireland, Dublin and the Isle of Man. We’ll be presenting work recorded on the Lyric stage, captured on zoom and filmed from company’s home venues.

The performances will preview on Friday 25th June and be available to stream until Sunday 27th June:
