BYMT is the UK’s leading musical theatre organization for young people and the largest commissioner of new music theatre. It’s a national charity supported by a range of trusts etc. It works across UK and Ireland providing high quality training for talented performers musicians aged 11-21, and stage technicians. Its aim is the personal and creative development of young people through the creation and performance of music theatre.
Since 2003 BYMT has created over 120 new musicals and trained over 8,000 young people including Charlotte Ritchie (Fresh Meat, Call the Midwife, Doctors), Lauren Samuels (We Will Rock You, Love Story, The Waterbabies) and Jack Bence (Sherlock, Misfits, Bad Education). Patrons include Zoe Wanamaker, James Bourne, Ed Sheeran and Peter Duncan MBE.
BYMT is a not-for-profit educational charity whose primary source of income comes from course fees.
