This summer we have a jam packed programme of workshops for young people of all ages!
The theme for our Summer Programme this year is…The World Around Us!
This broad theme will allow each age group to explore their own interpretations; ignite imaginations and explore stories from different corners of the globe. We are passionate about young people exploring their own ideas and working together to develop these ideas into pieces of work we will present in a showcase at the end of the week.
Our week long workshops include a variety of fun drama related activities and will include exercises in acting, movement and voice work. Our younger participants also take part in theatre design workshops; designing and producing artwork to decorate the theatre for the performance at the end of the week (they can then take this art work home!)
The emphasis of our summer programme is on learning! We offer a fun, encouraging environment for young people to grow in confidence, meet new friends and learn new skills!
This broad theme will spark imaginations and start conversations on a wide range of topics. Combining a range of different theatre techniques from physical theatre to improvisation, characterization to script work, the group will explore their own interpretations and create their own devised pieces based on their responses. These pieces could be scripted, improvised or movement pieces; the possibilities are endless.
This course will allow young people to work with a team of professional facilitators and to start to develop their own ‘actor’s toolkit’ learning key skills essential to any actor. It will also provide an excellent opportunity for young people to develop their confidence and communication skills, make new friends and work as part of a team.
The group will work towards a showcase at the end of the week which will allow family and friends to see exactly what skills they have been developing.
