Jimmy Fay, our Executive Producer at the Lyric Theatre, paid tribute to Matt Curry who passed away last week after a short illness with cancer.
“We are extremely saddened about the death of local filmmaker Matt Curry who passed away last Thursday. Matt, who was only 47, died following a short battle with cancer. He was highly respected for his work in theatre, film and production with his Belfast-based company Bluebird Media.
Matt was married to Emma Jordan, a long-time friend of the Lyric and director here, and artistic director of Prime Cut Productions. He was also a twin brother of Nicola Curry, Artistic Director of Maiden Voyage Dance.
The Board and staff of the Lyric Theatre extend their sympathy to Emma, their three children Rose, Annie and Matilda, to Nicola, his sisters and parents and the wider family.
