Accessibility Statement
At the Lyric, we pride ourselves on being accessible to everyone who enters our doors. We offer a free carer seat to any customer who needs essential assistance to attend the theatre. Below is a list of the facilities we offer.
I am a wheelchair user, how do I book a wheelchair space?
We kindly ask customers to give us advance notice when booking. We have wheelchair spaces in several areas within both auditoria. Please contact the Box Office on 028 9038 1081 or boxoffice@lyrictheatre.co.uk for further information.
As a wheelchair user, can I still access all levels of the venue?
Yes, we have lift access across the theatre. Our lift contains a voice indicating whether the doors are opening and closing, and which floor you are on. There are also support railings inside.
Where can I park that is close by the Lyric?
We have an accessible entrance at Ridgeway Street and lift access to all floors. We have two extended disabled parking bays with dropped kerbs in front of the Ridgeway Street entrance. This entrance can also serve as a drop-off point for customers with access needs.
I have epilepsy and am photosensitive?
Some performances may use lasers/strobe lighting. For these performances, signage indicating this will be visible throughout the venue and on our website.
I require a BSL or ISL interpreter, can you accommodate?
For Lyric Theatre productions, we offer captioned and audio described performances. We ask customers to give us advance notice of their needs when booking. For accessible performances, please contact the Box Office on 028 9038 1081 or boxoffice@lyrictheatre.co.uk.
I have a hearing impairment, can you accommodate?
Infra-red audio enhancement is available in both auditoria, to assist customers with hearing and visual impairments. Audio equipment can be collected from our Kiosk in advance of the show.
Can I bring my assistance dog?
We welcome assistance dogs in both auditoria. Again, we ask customers to give us advance notice of their needs when booking and bring the accompanying documentation.
