Tickets & Booking

Every member of the audience must have a valid ticket for the date and time that they are attending and be able to produce on demand relevant I.D. to support a concessionary or discounted rate.
It is the booker’s responsibility to ensure that all tickets issued to them are accurate.
It is the booker’s responsibility to ensure that all personal information provided when making a booking is correct.
No tickets may be re-sold for any reason by any outlet other than the Lyric Theatre Box Office or one of its authorised ticket agents (unauthorised outlets include websites such as auction sites). Failure to comply will make this ticket void.
Whilst the Lyric Theatre takes responsibility for tickets purchased directly through the Lyric Box Office, the Lyric Theatre website and authorised ticket agencies, we will not be responsible for tickets that have been sold through unauthorised methods.
Bookers with tickets purchased through an unauthorised vendor will not in any circumstances, receive an exchange or refund from the Lyric Theatre.
The Theatre reserves the right to place restrictions on the volume of tickets that may be ordered through the Box Office or online.
The Lyric Theatre conforms to the Data Protection Act 1998.

Multibuy – 15% off

The 15% multibuy means if you book three or more Lyric produced shows on the Main Stage you will save 15% on all qualifying tickets* in your basket. This offer is valid only on B&C tickets and is subject to availability.

*qualifying tickets are those in areas B&C and if applicable in multiples bought. i.e if you buy two tickets for two shows and four tickets for one show only two tickets across the three shows will be discounted.

Exchanges, Cancellations & Refunds

Tickets cannot be refunded unless a performance is cancelled. In the event of an abandoned performance (i.e. that is stopped part way through), bookers will first be offered the opportunity to exchange tickets for another performance; a refund will be issued for an abandoned performance if there are no alternative tickets or if the booker is not able to attend an alternative performance.
In the event that bookers are unable to attend a performance a refund will not be made available. However the Lyric Theatre will exchange tickets for another performance of the same production at the cost of £1.50 per ticket and subject to availability. Original tickets must be returned to the Lyric Theatre box office at least two days prior to the original performance date.
The Lyric Theatre may agree to sell unused tickets previously purchased directly from the theatre, on behalf of the booker, at an agreed price – if the production has reached capacity.
It is the booker’s responsibility to check with the Box Office if their ticket has been resold.
The Lyric Theatre does not have understudies and so it may be necessary to cancel a performance at short notice due to cast illness. For this reason please ensure the Box Office has your correct contact details.
No travel costs or other expenses incurred as part of your visit to the Lyric Theatre will be refunded.

Preview Performances

We offer preview performances on all Lyric productions, which are a set of performances that precede the official opening. The purpose of previews is to allow the director, cast and crew to run the show in front of an audience, to identify problems and opportunities for improvement and to make adjustments to the production so it is the best it can be. Often there will be changes made during previews. Sometimes there may be a stop in the show, but we endeavour to ensure that this rarely happens. For these reasons, tickets to previews are offered at a reduced price.

Competitions

Tickets received as competition prizes are non transferrable. No alternative performances or productions will be offered. No cash alternative will be offered. Prizes are to be used by the competition winner and will be available to collect at Box Office on the day of the event unless otherwise stated. Competitions run by external companies may have additional T&Cs.

Gift Vouchers

Vouchers can be redeemed as full or part payment for tickets to shows at the Lyric Theatre. If the full value of the voucher is not used in one transaction, credit for the remaining amount will be added to the customer’s account to use within the expiration date of the voucher.

No cash or voucher alternative will be offered. Vouchers must be redeemed by the expiry date, which is one year from the date of purchase

Please note vouchers cannot be redeemed at the Lyric Café Bar.

Your Visit

Latecomers (i.e. those attempting to enter the auditorium after the scheduled start time of the performance) may be asked to wait in the foyer until an appropriate moment in the performance to admit them to the auditorium. If there is no appropriate moment or admittance will cause disruption latecomers may be refused admission. There is a monitor in the foyer where latecomers can view the performance. No refund or exchange will be offered.
Latecomers admitted entry are not guaranteed access to their purchased seat and may be asked to sit in an alternative seat to avoid disruption.
Audience members who leave the auditorium once the performance has started may be asked to wait in the foyer until an appropriate moment in the performance to re-admit them. If there is no appropriate moment or admittance will cause disruption re-admittance may be refused. There is a monitor in the foyer where the performance can be viewed. No refund or exchange will be offered.
Mobile phones, pagers and watch alarms must be switched off before entering the auditorium. The use of mobile phones and pagers, even when silenced, can be distracting to other audience members and the performers on stage.
When making a booking the booker accepts our terms and conditions on behalf of all members of their party.
Children under the age of four, including babes in arms, will not be admitted to the auditorium – exceptions to this rule can only be made if the Lyric advertises the production as a family show suitable for young children of that age.
Filming, photography or audio during a performance is strictly prohibited unless written permission has been granted by the Marketing Department at the Lyric Theatre. The Lyric Theatre reserves the right to delete or destroy any such recorded material made without permission.
The Lyric Theatre may carry out general filming, sound recording or photography in or around the venue. By purchasing tickets or visiting the bar you and your party are consenting to being filmed, recorded or photographed.
The Lyric Theatre does not have a cloakroom or storage facilities for bicycles or luggage.

The Lyric Theatre reserves the right to:

Make any alterations to the advertised programme or casting rendered necessary by unavoidable causes.
Request any ticket holder to leave the Theatre and take appropriate action to enforce this right.
Refuse admission or eject from the venue any person that it believes is likely to cause a nuisance, disturbance or threat to other audience members, the venue or its employees.
Refuse admission to anyone whose tickets have been purchased through an unauthorised agency or third party.

Health & Safety

Abusive, anti-social or threatening behaviour of any kind towards another member of the audience or staff will result in immediate removal from the premises and may end in legal action.
The Theatre reserves the right to conduct bag searches for security purposes.
Glasses, bottles, cameras and recording equipment are not allowed in the auditorium. Drinks may be carried in plastic cups provided.
Only alcoholic drinks purchased in the theatre bar are permitted in the auditorium. The Lyric reserves the right to refuse entry to any member of the audience in possession of or consuming alcoholic drinks not purchased in the theatre’s bar.
Hot food is not permitted in the auditorium. Please remember any food/sweets in noisy wrappers may disturb the performers and other members of the audience.
Strobe lighting, gunshots and smoke effects are sometimes used in productions; details are available from the Box Office after the first performance.

Child Protection Officer

The Lyric prides itself on being Northern Ireland’s major producing theatre. As part of on-going projects, the theatre wishes to include children & vulnerable adults of all ages and from all walks of life to nurture new talent, encourage cross community relations and to encourage self-confidence of the participating children/vulnerable adults. Whilst the primary responsibility of the welfare of the child/vulnerable adult lies with the parent/carer, The Lyric Theatre wishes to ensure that children & vulnerable adults are safe and protected from harm whilst visiting the premises.
