We are delighted to announce that Dublin based, Bitter Like a Lemon Productions are bringing their renowned Leper & Chip to the Lyric Theatre, Belfast in October.
A new play by Lee Coffey, first staged at Theatre Upstairs in April 2014, directed by Karl Shiels and performed by Conall Keating and Amilia Stewart. Leper & Chip is fast paced, set in contemporary inner city Dublin and consists of a series of monologues, interwoven monologues and dialogue between the two protagonists.
LEPER + CHIP has gone on to stage a sell out run at Project Arts Centre in Dublin and is currently staging its UK premiere at Assembly Roxy for the entire month of August as part of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2015.
Reviews include:
“This breakneck two-hander will smack you upside the head... The speed and precision of the performers, aided by minimal, emphatic design, make a breathlessly exciting 45 minutes.” - Peter Crawley, The Irish Times
“A remarkable writing debut from Dublin writer Lee Coffey... Leper + Chip has enough appeal and promise to reduce the age demographic of the typical Irish theatre audience, yet its fresh-faced vitality will appeal to all... director Karl Shiels, who levels this to a truly excellent production.” - Eithne Shortall, The Sunday Times
“Hilarious, fast-paced and deeply heartfelt. A hugely promising first play...” – Mark O’Rowe
