The Lyric Theatre is pleased to announce the appointment of Ciarán McAuley F.C.A. to the post of Chief Executive. This is the most senior position in the company with ultimate responsibility for ensuring that the Lyric thrives artistically and financially. Ciarán will report directly to the Board and will manage the planning, resourcing and delivery of all aspects of the Lyric's programme and operations, working closely with the Artistic Director, Richard Croxford.
Ciarán, a Chartered Accountant, is currently the Commercial Director at Belfast’s Grand Opera House where he has been closely involved in the development of its business operations, including the planning and delivery of the new extension. He will take up his post at the Lyric in April.
Mark Carruthers, Chairman of the Lyric’s Board, said “I am delighted that Ciarán is joining the Lyric at such an exciting and challenging time. His proven venue management expertise, combined with his energy, determination and passion for the arts, will be a great asset to us in the years ahead”.
Commenting on his appointment, Ciarán McAuley said, “It is a great privilege to be involved with the Lyric at such a momentous stage in its development. The Lyric has been an indispensable part of our cultural life for over fifty years. I look forward to helping to build on all the great achievements to date and to ensuring that the company realises its full potential in its new home on Ridgeway Street”.
