In May 2024, we announced Lyric-Fishmongers' Bursaries to support Lyric Drama Studio alumni in their training at Drama Schools across the UK and Ireland; meet 3 of the young people who have been supported this year.
Lucy Rafferty (left), Conor Joyce (middle) and Melanie Lavery (right) are Lyric Drama Studio alumni who are being supported by the Lyric-Fishmongers' Bursary. Studying at Arts Ed, LAMDA and Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama respectively, they are three of five young people being supported while they train at Drama Schools across the UK and Ireland following the announcement of the bursary in May 2024 (Read Announcement Here). The bursary is also supporting Drama Studio Alumni Jack Walker (The Lir Academy, Dublin) and Katie Moore (Royal Birmingham Conservatoire).
The Fishmongers’ Company is one of the oldest Livery Companies in the City of London. Historically it supported fishmongers, but now supports a range of causes from education to the sustainability of our rivers and oceans.
The bursaries were designed to support young people from Northern Ireland accessing pathways in theatre, primarily in the areas of performing, who are identified through the Lyric’s Drama Studio programme.
