A Gala Fundraising evening allows us the opportunity to raise funds to support our Education & Outreach department, making the arts accessible to all demographics across Northern Ireland.
The Importance of Being Earnest Gala Fundraiser 2025
On a fine evening in Belfast, a touch of timeless charm met modern sophistication as the Lyric Theatre hosted its Gala Performance of The Importance of Being Earnest. The evening was a celebration not only of theatre, but of community, creativity, and the power of the arts to bring people together.
Guests began their night at the at The Regency, where specially invited guests were welcomed with a champagne and cocktail reception, before enjoying a beautifully curated three-course meal.
After dinner, the party made its way to the Lyric Theatre, where Oscar Wilde’s beloved play was brought to life in a spectacular gala performance of The Importance of Being Earnest. The audience was treated to live music by The String Ninjas, whose uplifting performances set the perfect tone for a night of celebration.
Through ticket sales, raffle prizes, and a silent auction, the gala raised just over £5k.
Events like this gala are vital, helping to support the theatre’s education and outreach work — including projects in schools across Northern Ireland.
