Bernie Bourke established and coordinated the Donahies School of Drama in Dublin where her directing credits included The Mai by Marina Carr, Blood Brothers by Willie Russell, Like a Virgin by Gordon Steel and Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck – all showcased at The Helix. Bernie is co-founder of Mná Caointe – a cross border bilingual theatre project examining some of the primal forces at work in JM Synge’s seminal works. The company is presently creating an original piece exploring identity through a linguistic lens. Bernie holds an MA from UCD in Modern Drama Studies.
