Declan Bennett
Bio
Actor/Musician Declan Bennett made his West End debut in the Boy George penned musical Taboo, where he played the lead role Billy opposite George himself before opening for him on his sold out UK tour.
He subsequently moved to New York to star as Roger in cult rock opera RENT on Broadway, the original cast of American Idiot, the original Guy in the West End production of Once and Jesus in the Olivier Award winning Regents Park Open Air Theatre production of Jesus Christ Superstar. He recently played the role of Billy Bigelow in the Parks brand new production of
Carousel and has returned to Broadway to play Duke in Moulin Rouge.
Alongside his theatre work and TV career as a series regular on BBC’s Eastenders as Charlie Cotton and Jonathan in the recent ITV crime drama The Long Call, Declan is also a fiercely independent singer songwriter, having released 4 albums and 4 EP’s on his own label CovBoy.
This current project, Boy Out The City, is his first solo theatre project, showcasing his incredibly unique, exciting and bold talents as a writer, poet and performer. www.declanbennett.co.uk
