BIO:

Rod is a writer from Saintfield. While this is his first play, he’s been writing and publishing comic books since 2017. Tales Of The Fractured Mind – an anthology of stories about mental health – was followed up by another anthology of sci-fi stories called Tales Of Fractured Worlds and then The Soul Of The Sea, a horror set on the coast of Ireland, along with various short stories through the years. This year Pen and Sword published his book about the history of Garfield called The Creation Of Garfield and he has another book due out at the end of the year called A Music Lover’s Guide To Dublin.

PLAY:

The Visiting Hours is a horror play set in 1974. After a bomb goes off in the city, newly qualified nurse Maria is left alone on her ward while the hospital is locked down. When one of the patients starts talking about a recent visitor, Maria soon finds out that she may be safer on the streets of Belfast than inside the Royal over the night shift.
