Theatre School

The Lyric’s range of weekly drama workshops use the stimulating power of the theatre arts to inspire and engage.

Designed for young people aged 6 - 18+, they represent a wonderful opportunity to learn with a team of professional facilitators and explore many different skills. No audition or previous experience is necessary. With workshops and mentorship, Theatre School pools the creative energy of experienced theatre practitioners and nurtures not only artistic talent but better collaborators, thinkers, and leaders.

Year 13 - 14 (Senior Theatre School)
The perfect class for those studying AS /A Level drama or those interested in pursuing a career in theatre. Senior Theatre School is a training programme for aspiring young actors.
This course will be taught over 12 weeks by a core tutor of The Lyric. It will cover key elements of actor training including Voice, Movement and Improvisation. We aim to introduce young actors to various theatre techniques, preparing them for further study of acting either through the Lyric Drama Studio or a recognised drama school. This weekly course demands a high level of commitment; participants must be on time for each session and come ready to work & learn. Participants will also have unique access to the expertise and advice of the Creative Learning Dept when thinking about post school options + drama school auditions.
