Estranged siblings Jean and Gary are thrown back together when their mother passes away, leaving a small fortune under her bed - the only stipulation being that the money is used for them to buy a house together.

Jean has just returned home for good after eight years of self-imposed exile in Berlin and feels responsible for her younger, directionless brother. Gary is desperate to prove to Jean he has grown up and changed just
as much as she has. They are both struggling to reconnect, as their differences make it difficult to navigate this new relationship. As the two search for a new place to call home with their old friend and estate agent Ian, dark secrets from the past threaten to reveal themselves.

All Mod Cons, written by Erica Murray, was developed as part of the Lyric’s inaugural New Playwrights programme in 2017 and was showcased as part of the Belfast International Arts Festival and the Origins Irish Theatre Festival in New York.

We are delighted to welcome Erica back to the Lyric as our Artist-in-Residence for 2019 with the support of the Channel 4 Playwrights’ Scheme sponsored by Channel 4 Television and by The Peggy Ramsay Foundation.
