Hot Stuff at the Lyric

Summer is nearly upon us and despite the rain, temperatures are rising. No more so than in rehearsals at the Lyric Theatre. The hottest ticket this season will be for new romantic comedy Can’t Forget About You which premieres on 23 May.

Dundrum heart-throb Declan Rodgers feels the pressure from all the women in his life in this hilarious new play in the Naughton Studio of the Lyric Theatre. Declan plays Belfast man Stevie who falls in love with a much older woman from Glasgow played by Karen Dunbar, one of Scotland’s best known comedy actors. Stevie’s new flame attracts the wrath of his conservative mother and sister, never mind his ex-girlfriend… Will the fledgling relationship survive or will his family change their attitudes?

Written by award-winning playwright David Ireland and directed by star of stage and screen, Conleth Hill (The Producers, Stones in his Pockets) this is destined to be one of the hottest shows in Belfast this summer. Can’t Forget About You previews from 19 May and runs until 16 June.
