Maria’s sister Bernie has organised a birthday party for her. It’s supposed to be a surprise, but Maria ends up getting the (second) biggest shock of her life.

As secrets emerge and cover-ups are revealed, Maria, Bernie and Maria’s daughter Suzanna have to navigate a new world of choices and consequences. What is the cost of a lifetime of silence and who will pay the price when Maria finally speaks up?
