Lyric Theatre Summer School 2026 (12 - 14 Year Olds)

This summer, inspired by our very own Lyric Theatre productions of Tea in a China Cup and Steel Magnolias, our theme is Memory.

Throughout the week, participants will discover how memories, both cherished and challenging, shape the stories we tell and the people we become.

Using themes from these plays as creative inspiration, they will devise their own original theatre pieces that explore family stories, friendships, identity, and the moments that stay with us.

Through a blend of physical theatre, improvisation, and characterisation, participants will experiment with how memories can be re‑imagined, retold, or transformed on stage.

Guided by a team of professional facilitators, they will begin to build their own actor’s toolkit, developing essential performance skills while growing in confidence, communication, and collaboration.

The week concludes with a showcase in our Naughton Studio, where family and friends are invited to join us enjoy the work created throughout the week.

This programme offers a brilliant opportunity for young people to make new friends, build confidence, develop communication skills, work as part of a team, and most importantly, enjoy a fun‑filled week of creativity and unforgettable experiences.
