Lyric Theatre Summer School 2026 (15 - 18 Year Olds)
This summer, inspired by our very own Lyric Theatre productions of Tea in a China Cup and Steel Magnolias, our theme is Memory.
Throughout the week, participants will explore how memories, both cherished and challenging, influence the stories we tell, the identities we form, and the relationships that shape our lives.
Drawing inspiration from the themes of Tea in a China Cup and Steel Magnolias, they will devise original theatre pieces that delve into family histories, friendships, identity, and the moments that stay with us.
Through a blend of physical theatre, improvisation, and characterisation, they will experiment with how memories can be reimagined, retold, or completely transformed on stage. The focus will be on developing a deep level of performance craft, encouraging participants to make bold choices and explore emotional nuance.
Guided by a team of professional facilitators, participants will continue building their own actor’s toolkit, strengthening essential skills such as voice, movement, text work, ensemble collaboration, and imaginative storytelling.
The week concludes with a showcase in our Naughton Studio, where family and friends are invited to join us enjoy the work created throughout the week.
Our Summer School provides a supportive and inspiring environment where young people can challenge themselves artistically, meet like‑minded peers, and most importantly, enjoy a fun‑filled week of creativity and unforgettable experiences.
