Accessibility

At the Lyric Theatre we aim to make our full range of activities accessible to all customers.

  • Entrance

Our Ridgeway Street entrance is fully accessible, with lift access to all floors throughout the building. Just outside, you’ll find two extended disabled parking bays with dropped kerbs, and this entrance also serves as a convenient drop-off point for anyone with access needs. Inside, we offer wheelchair spaces in several areas across both of our auditoria.

  • Other Facilities

Accessible toilets are available on different levels of the theatre, each of which are accessible by our lift. (Ground Floor, First Floor & third Floor) Infra-red audio enhancement is provided in both auditoria to support customers with hearing or visual impairments, with equipment available to collect from our Kiosk before the show.

We also offer ear defenders and sensory toys for audiences with attention or sensory needs, just let our team at The Box Office know, and we’ll be happy to help.

  • Babe-in-Arms Tickets

Babe-in-arms tickets are available for children under the age of two years old who do not require their own seat. This ticket is free of charge and can be booked through The Box Office.

  • Main Stage & Naughton Studio

On the Main Stage, we offer wheelchair seating on a rise-and-fall platform in Row J, with additional spaces available in Row R and the Balcony.

In the Naughton Studio, wheelchair spaces are located in the front row. We ask customers to let us know their access needs when booking so we can ensure the best experience.

All our seats are 17" wide, though legroom and row incline can vary. If you need a larger seat or would like more details before booking, please contact our Box Office team, who will be happy to help.

  • Changing Facilities

Baby changing facilities are available on the ground floor. An adult changing mat is also available, on request from our Box Office.

  • Assistance

Assistance dogs are welcomed in both of our auditoria. To help us prepare, we simply ask that you let us know in advance of your visit. If you need essential support to attend the theatre, we’re also pleased to offer a complimentary carer seat.
