On Wednesday 20th March, we were delighted to welcome audiences to a sold-out Gala Performance of Agreement as a Lyric Theatre Fundraising event.
We were delighted to welcome audiences to the Lyric for a pre-show reception, a performance of Agreement and then a post-show discussion with writer Owen McCafferty and Executive Producer of the Lyric, Jimmy Fay.
For the occasion, we partnered with The Regency to offer a VIP Reception Package in their new Crescent One events space. This event was a treat for the 60 guests who were greeted with a champagne and cocktail reception, followed by a 3 course meal prepared by chef Gemma Austin from A Peculiar Tea. Entertainment was provided by The String Ninjas throughout the reception and meal before the guests were transported to the Lyric for the Gala Performance of Agreement.
Have a look at what audiences were treated to on the evening:
As part of the evening we ran an auction featuring some artwork exclusive to the Lyric.
We are still welcoming offers on 'The Compromise' and 'Ruby Slippers', which can be made by contacting our Development Team at development@lyrictheatre.co.uk.
We were delighted to receive support for this event from our suppliers, Board, partners and audiences. A special and heartfelt thanks to Colin Davidson for donating the limited prints of 'The Compromise'. Colin is one of our Friends of the Lyric, supporting us throughout the year, and we are proud to host a permanent exhibition of his portraits in the theatre.
Thank you to everyone who attended, and to our suppliers and partners who donated prizes, bought tickets or offered their services for free:
As a Charity, the Lyric is publicly funded for around a third of our costs, with the remaining funds being generated from our day to day operations as a theatre and our fundraising efforts. All proceeds from this fundraising event will go on to support our commitment to New Writing, supporting emerging and established playwrights and showcasing new work.
