The Lyric’s range of weekly drama workshops use the stimulating power of the theatre arts to inspire and engage.
Designed for young people aged 6-18+, they represent a wonderful opportunity to learn with a team of professional facilitators and explore many different skills. No audition or previous experience is necessary. With workshops and mentorship, Theatre School pools the creative energy of experienced theatre practitioners and nurtures not only artistic talent but better collaborators, thinkers, and leaders.
Storytrekkers is an interactive story based session which combines drama games, exercises and engaging storytelling. Each week, participants explore stories from different corners of the globe and take part in a range of games & exercises to become new characters & explore their own alternative endings to each story.
Fun and energetic classes designed to ignite imaginations and introduce young people to a range of performance skills. Classes are led by our team of professional facilitators and will encourage young people to grow in confidence, develop new skills and make new friends.
A range of performance skills which build up the actor’s toolkit. This will include working on voice, stage craft, characterisation and script work. The group will also continue to focus on the role of actor as storyteller and how they engage and enthral audiences.
Our young actors will explore a wide range of performance and acting techniques from improvisation and characterisation to script work and physical theatre. The group will start to develop their own actors toolkit learning key skills essential to any actor.
The perfect class for those studying GCSE Drama or those thinking of pursuing acting as a career.
Participants will focus in detail on a range of performance skills and acting techniques. They will also learn about different theatre practitioners and their subsequent styles. Each week the class will begin with a physical and vocal warm up to sharpen focus and develop skills in vocal projection and articulation.
The perfect class for those studying AS /A Level drama or those interested in pursuing a career in theatre.
Senior Theatre School classes follow the same model as our flagship Drama Studio; a training programme for aspiring young actors. Each class will be taught by a different facilitator each focussing on different theatre techniques.
This course provides an excellent opportunity to meet and learn from an exciting range of facilitators who will encourage & challenge participants to develop their craft.
